In many ways, the Stan Johnson Co. and net lease practice have come of age together. Twenty years after founder & CEO Stan Johnson decided to transform the focus of his new investment brokerage firm to a net lease platform, the firm, like net lease itself, is now in a fast-growth mode. Focusing on retail, office and industrial deals, the company has handled transactions totaling some $3 billion in value in the past three years alone. Now it is gearing up with a strategy intended to leave its 2006 transaction volume of almost $1 billion in the rearview mirror.
Just when the company might reach that next level is unpredictable, but it is laying the groundwork with some big moves. After a 20-year focus on investment sales, it added a new dimension late last month, officially unveiling its new capital markets group, which offers debt-placement advisory services to its clients. ³To provide a better surety of close with our sellers, we need to provide better surety of financing,² Johnson explained.
