Each year, Stan Johnson Company sets aside time to come together and serve our community. Through our annual SJCares Day of Service initiative, we take two of our core values, Service and Teamwork, to heart by partnering with local non-profit organizations for a day of volunteering.
In years past, we have focused on in-person volunteer events at organizations such as Tulsa Habitat for Humanity, New Alternatives for Children in New York, Hands On Atlanta, local area food banks, as well as others. This year, however with COVID-19 preventing large in-person gatherings, we needed to find a solution to serve our communities remotely.
We pooled our resources and found solutions for our sales and operations teams to get involved and help support the Hunger Action Month campaign benefiting Feeding America, a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that feed more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies.
Stan Johnson Company employees came together to promote Hunger Action Month on social media, donate food items to their local community food banks, and schedule individual volunteering sessions if they were comfortable doing so. We also launched a company-wide virtual fundraiser, benefiting Feeding America, and exceeded our fundraising goal!
